WELCOME TO OUR FESTIVAL 28-30 SEPTEMBER

EMERGING AND ASPIRING AUTHORS INTERACT

Festival program detailsstart a story • tell a story • BE a story
As the MFBW bi-line says, the Maleny Festival of Books & Writing is all about the stages of writing from motivation to publication. Authors, poets, publishers, educators, librarians, writing groups and book club members have all contributed to create the Maleny Festival of Books & Writing (MFBW) two-day program: an exploratory journey into the ever-evolving world of words; a one-street adventure encompassing the literary identity and diversity of Australian authors, writers and readers.

Patrons are advised to click here for program updates & corrections in case of late changes or cancellation of scheduled events.

MALENY SHOWCASES LITERARY TALENT

An integrated two-day program, preceded by an Opening Night on the 28th, will showcase regional and interstate writers. The festival workshops, seminars, discussion groups, writers panels, and literary events are designed to extend your writing boundaries – whether you’re a beginner writer or almost-published; child, teen or senior.

And where better to find creative inspiration? Half of the faces in Maple Street, Maleny are authors, playwrights, poets, illustrators, agents, editors, publishers, booksellers, book club members … and readers.

Add national literary talent and expertise and you have a powerful mix for a two-day literary program of events – some free and some not – but all charged with creative energy and enthusiasm.

And it’s within easy driving distance from South-East Queensland centres and Northern New South Wales.
